LEXINGTON, KY. – BC Wood Properties, a commercial real estate company, is giving back to the City of Fayetteville, Tennessee by donating .45 acres of property to the Camp Blount project. Camp Blount is of significant historical value, having been the mustering location for the first volunteers in the State of Tennessee, thus getting its nickname ‘The Volunteer State’.

Scott Collins, City Administrator of Fayetteville, said, “The City of Fayetteville is very appreciative of BC Wood Properties for their generous donation of property to the City for the Camp Blount Historic Site. Because of their overwhelming support, additional amenities will be added to the site to enhance the visitor’s experience.” The state of Tennessee has preserved Camp Blount as a memorial to Tennesseans who served in the War of 1812 and the Creek War.
